FIRST STAND ALONE SHS SCHOOL IN COTABATO CITY OPENS THROUGH MBHTE
THE Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education opened its first Bangsamoro Stand Alone Senior High School in Cotabato City to address classroom shortage in the region.
Located in Brgy. Datu Balabaran, Tamontaka Mother, the infrastructure is six four-storey buildings with a total of 120 classrooms and expected to accommodate more than five thousand senior high school students.
Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal stressed that maintaining the integrity and longevity of the newly-opened school is a shared responsibility of all members of the Bangsamoro educational community.
“This new structure stands not only as a testament to our commitment to education but also as a symbol of progress and growth. (Also) it is a testament of Moral Governance – Transparency, and the visible efforts of MBHTE. As educators, it is our duty to provide an environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration among learners,” Iqbal said in a statement.
He said they will continue to build structures that are ideal for teachers and students’ learning environment.
“As we step into this new chapter, let us remember that this building is more than just bricks-and-mortars. It is a place where futures will be shaped, dreams will be nurtured, and countless memories will be made,” Iqbal added.
The school infrastructure project corresponds with BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim’s 12-point agenda, which aims to improve access to quality and holistic education by investing in human resources and advancing science and technology.
