VALENZUELA LAUNCHES ONLINE LEARNING SYSTEM

/ 10 August 2020

VALENZUELA City has launched an online learning system to help students continue their schooling amid Covid19.

In partnership with the local office of the Department of Education, Valenzuela City launched the ‘Valenzuela Live Online Streaming School’ where classes will be pre-recorded and uploaded online.

“The difference here is that we are going to still pretend that there is school through streaming. It is like a real classroom pa rin naman, nawala lang doon iyong estudyante kasi nasa bahay sila,” said Mayor Rex Gatchalian.

While students can access the program at the beginning of the school year, the city has also prepared modules which will be delivered to students who have no gadgets and internet connectivity.

The DepEd has reminded students and parents that they do not need to buy gadgets including laptops and personal computers as there will be available options despite the shift towards blended learning this school year.

Gatchalian recently revealed that the city will allot P69 million for the purchase of tablets that will be lent to students and will be used to watch video lessons.
