THE COMMISSION on Higher Education said that more universities and colleges prefer a combination of face-to-face and online learning.

CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera III said that most students and faculty members got used to online learning.

“Mukhang nasanay na ‘yong mga estudyante at saka faculty, mas gusto na nilang mag-more on online than face-to-face,” De Vera said.

“I think majority ay flexible system, where you can combine going to school, let’s say one or two days in the week… That seems to be an emerging sentiment in many universities,” he added.

Previously, the National Union of Students of the Philippines urged the government to subsidize the health insurance of students who will attend in-person classes.

The health insurance requirement, according to NUSP President Jandeil Roperos, has become an “additional burden” to students who want to return to classrooms.

A joint memorandum circular issued by the Department of Health and CHEd requires colleges and universities to ensure that students who will attend physical classes are covered with health insurance.
