/ 2 February 2021

DR. TERESITA Uytiepo Quirino, the founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Technological Institute of the Philippines, passed away on January 29, 2021. She was 88.

TIP said Quirino, who spent 53 years of her life in shaping TIP, died of a heart condition.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved T.I.P Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Board, Dr. Teresita Uytiepo Quirino, last Friday, January 29, 2021 due to a long-standing heart condition,” TIP said on Facebook.

“She lived a full life of 88 years — 53 of which she devoted to the school — leaving behind to all of us a wonderful legacy that is T.I.P. As we remember our Chairman Emeritus, let us draw comfort from and pride in being a part of T.I.P., and what it has become. The school and the vision they had for its students had always been our founders’ pride and joy all their life,” it added.

Those who wish to pay their last respects could coordinate with TIP for the details of her wake.

A live video of the funeral was also live-streamed at TIP’s official Facebook page.
