TEACHERS PUT UP KINDNESS STATION FOR AETA COMMUNITY
TEACHERS at the Biaan Aeta Integrated School in Mariveles, Bataan have set up the “Mariveles Kindness Station” which provides rice, canned goods and other basic necessities to the Aeta community.
Mariquita Banal, one of the teachers who led the Bayanihan operations in their municipality, said they want help people survive the pandemic via simple means.
“As teachers, somehow we are driven by our conviction to help. It may not be the whole nation, but at least to this Aeta community who are looking up to us for help,” said Banal.
The teachers have also launched the “Kindness Station on Wheels” which provides relief goods to indigenous people.
“We were able to reach our goal as we have treated this activity the way we treat our classrooms and learners. The volunteers and recipients learned the values of sharing, kindness, and resiliency,” Banal added.
Other teachers in Pampanga have also been helping the community by gathering donations for the production of hundreds of face shields, masks, and personal protective equipment which will be donated to medical workers in the province.
