TAGUIG MAYOR FINISHES ONLINE COURSE ON CRISIS MANAGEMENT

TAGUIG City Mayor Lino Cayetano has recently finished an online course on crisis management from Xplore Philippines Inc. and Informatics College.

Cayetano took the lead in taking a digital course under his government’s cyber schooling initiative.

In April, the city government launched the Taguig Online Resources and Community Hub. The program offers various courses for students, workers, and entrepreneurs. The course completed by Cayetano was one of the programs offered by the Training and Enrichment Courses of the Taguig Online Campus, one of the five component programs of TORCH.

TECTOC runs through Xplore and Informatics’ intelligent digital learning platform, Percipio. Using any device including a mobile phone, students can access 25,000 courses and 40,000 ebooks/ audiobooks. Percipio allows students to learn by watching expert-driven video courses, reading online books from leading publishers, and listening to a large collection of audiobooks.

Those who finish a course will receive certificates or badges.

Percipio is the latest version of the e-Learning platform developed by Skillsoft, a US-based online learning content provider preferred by 65 percent of Fortune 500 companies. Skillsoft has also trained more than 400 million users globally, including world-class educational institutions such as Yale University, Cornell University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
