SOLON WANTS TESDA CENTER IN ORMOC
ORMOC Rep. Richard Gomez filed a measure establishing the Ormoc Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
In his House Bill 7702 or the proposed Ormoc TESDA Training and Assessment Center, Gomez stressed the need to establish an accessible, high-quality education, and skills development in the province.
The solon said this is beneficial not only to high school and college newly graduates, but also to any citizen in the area and its neighboring districts who wants to learn.
Gomez explained establishing TESDA Center in their province will allow youth to develop new skills that enable them to empower themselves and earn a living.
“The immediate adoption of this bill is called for as a tangible demonstration of the government’s unwavering commitment to making education a dynamic right and democratic blessing for all Filipinos especially those in need,” Gomez said in his explanatory note.
The center, Gomez added, shall help accelerate the social and economic development of the area and to ensure local populations are productive, self-sufficient and globally competitive in order to meet the labor needs of both local and international labor markets.
