THE COMMISSION on Higher Education (CHED) visited Region 12 and led the distribution of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) to student-beneficiaries across the region following the recent earthquake.

In coordination with CHED Regional Office 12, headed by Director Rody Garcia, and in partnership with participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the visit facilitated the simultaneous release of financial assistance to TES grantees.

CHED said the initiative reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that students are able to continue their education despite disruptions brought about by natural disasters.

As part of the visit, Argupis convened a consultation and situation briefing with HEI officials from affected areas in General Santos City and the Province of Sarangani.

They discussed the extent of damage sustained by educational institutions, the status of academic operations, and ongoing measures to safeguard the welfare of students, faculty members, and personnel.

University and college administrators likewise presented updates on campus conditions, structural assessments, learning continuity plans, and institutional responses following the earthquake.
