ANG Probinsyano Party-list Rep. Alfred delos Santos filed a measure that seeks to update the training program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

House Bill 4983 or the proposed TESDA Skills Training Act also aims to update TESDA’s Special Training for Employment Program and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

Under the bill, TESDA will identify, prepare and provide policy guidance and technical resource assistance to updates in its programs and curricula.

The private sector will be the agency’s partner in the implementation of the programs.

TESDA can also tap non-governmental organizations, civic organizations, the academe and people’s organizations in updating its programs.

“We yearn for a globally competitive populace and long for a new image for Filipinos – one that embodies excellence and a strong work ethic,” Delos Santos said in his explanatory note.
