SOLON PROPOSES TESDA TRAINING CENTER IN LIGAO CITY
ALBAY 3rd District Rep. Fernando Cabredo filed a bill that will establish a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Training and Accreditation Center in Ligao City.
In filing House Bill 7437, or the proposed Provincial Training Center-Ligao City Act, Cabredo said establishing accessible, high quality, and efficient technical education skills development programs shall be beneficial not only to high school students and college graduates, but also to ordinary citizens who want to continue their education, gain new knowledge, and improve their skill sets.
This will also provide more options in terms of education and career for the constituents of the third district of Albay.
The lawmaker saw the need for the creation of a Provincial Training Center in Ligao City as this will serve 55 barangays which compromise the city as well as the neighboring municipalities.
The fund needed for the implementation of the measure shall be included in the General Appropriations Act on the year following the approval of the bill and in every year thereafter.
Based on the measure, the local government unit concerned in consultation with TESDA shall likewise set aside from any available local revenue an amount deemed appropriate as annual counterpart fund to support the operation of the training center.
