/ 9 June 2024

SENATOR Grace Poe is a proud mother to her son Brian Poe Llamanzares after finishing his Masters in National Security Administration program as a senior executive at the National Defense College of the Philippines.

The senator personally attended the graduation ceremonies with her husband Neil Llamanzares.

“Brian Poe Llamanzares, Masters in National Security Administration for Senior Executives… Another feather in your cap and we couldn’t be more proud. Congratulations, Brian!” Poe said in her Instagram Post.

Brian was also awarded a silver medal for his thesis regarding the water security concerns in the country.

It was learned that senior executive students also undergo basic military training and study defense policy from geopolitical, and economic up to military strategy.

In his graduation speech, Brian emphasized the importance of studying national security particularly with the current situation in the West Philippine Sea.

“Our specialization in national security could not have come at a more critical time. We are living in an era where the complexities and challenges of national security have become more pronounced than ever,” Brian said.

”The ongoing disputes in the West Philippine Sea, the evolving dynamics of our ties with both China and the United States, and the multifaceted threats to our sovereignty and economic stability underscore the importance of our chosen field of study,” he added.

He also encouraged other senior executives to take the course to help protect the Philippine sovereignty.
