SAGADA SCHOOLS, PARENTS SEEK RETURN TO F2F CLASSES
SCHOOLS and parents from Sagada, Mountain Province sought the resumption of face-to-face classes saying that poor cellphone and internet signal in the area hinder distance learning.
Sagada Mayor James Pooten admitted that modular learning system is difficult for Sagada learners because most parents cannot read or write.
“Ano ba ang asahan mo na sila magtuturo sa mga anak nila eh sila mismo eh no read no write. Wala talaga, nahihirapan ang estudyante natin,” Pooten said.
The mayor said that members of different Parent-Teacher Associations are also in favor of the resumption of in-person classes.
Students, teachers, as well as parents and guardians found online learning difficult , he added.
He said all schools in the municipality should be included in the pilot run of face-to-face classes. These schools are located in far-flung areas and PTA members gave assurances that no outsiders will be allowed to enter the villages to prevent the spread of Covid19 in the province.
