RED-TAGGING ON SOCMED EXPOSED

/ 13 August 2020

KABATAAN  Partylist PUP-COC took to social media to expose a red-tagging and death threat message by an alter account to one of its members after expressing her dissent on social media.

An alter account is usually a dummy account meant to be someone’s online dumping place for his sexual side or can be used for prostitution.

A Twitter user named “@nanana10112” messaged the PUP student that their mass organization is ‘toxic’ and wished that they are killed by military men like those members of the New People’s Army.

“iPAPA-HUNTING KITA SA MGA SUNDALO. TUTAL KILALA NAMAN YUNG MGA KAGAYA NIYO NA NPA. SANA MAKITA KITA SA NEWS NA NAKATIHAYA NALANG NA DUGUAN. MAMATAY KA NG TOXIC KA. **** INA MO KA,” @nanana10112  told the PUP student.

The mass organization condemned the act committed by the alter account and stated that it was partly due to the Anti-Terror Bill which was recently enacted into law.

“Mariing kinondena ng Kabataan Partylist PUP-College of Communication ang walang tigil na red-tagging sa panahon na umiiral ang Terror Law. Ang kabataan at mamamayan ay may karapatang aktibong maglahad ng kanilang mga hinaing,” PUP KPL said.

The group also called for the junking of the highly controversial Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020, as they see this as leeway for more abuses.

The group also called for a mass reporting of the account on Twitter which is still up and has a sexually graphic feed.
