PBED SEALS PARTNERSHIP WITH WELLS FARGO
THE PHILIPPINE Business for Education has partnered with Wells Fargo to provide various training programs to bolster the skills and employability of out-of-school youth.
“Investing in our youth and developing our human capital is the key to driving growth and innovation in the country,” PBEd Deputy Executive Director for Programs Bal Camua said.
Under the Human Capital Investment for Work Readiness and Employment program, 200 out-of-school youth will be mentored by professionals. They will also receive subsidies while training to enable them to upskill and get ready for employment.
Under the HIRE program, the youth will undergo 4-8 weeks of skills training tailored for companies in the sectors of food service and tourism, construction, ICT and analytics, agriculture and agri-business, manufacturing, logistics, banking and finance, energy and renewables, and health service.
The program will also develop the life skills of the trainees including leadership and communication, interpersonal and professional skills and critical thinking.
“By providing them with the right training and bridging them to meaningful employment, the industry plays its part in empowering the youth,” Camua added.
Meanwhile, Wells Fargo Country Head Mike Whyte said that they are excited to work with PBEd to develop a more resilient workforce.
“Wells Fargo is committed to building an inclusive, sustainable future for all, as well as making a positive impact in its communities. We are excited to collaborate with PBEd to upskill and train the youth, helping pave the way for a more resilient and skilled workforce,” Whyte said.
