PASIG CITY TO PROVIDE BOOK ALLOWANCE FOR PLP STUDENTS

/ 19 July 2026

PASIG City Mayor Vico Sotto announced that beginning this school year, the city government will provide a Book Allowance for students of the Pamantasang Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP), in addition to their regular student allowance.

Sotto said the initiative is part of the city’s efforts to further support the educational needs of PLP students.

Earlier, around 1,134 PLP graduates received a graduation allowance as the city launched a new financial assistance program for graduating students.

The mayor said each graduate was given ₱1,500 to help cover graduation-related expenses, marking the first year of the city’s Graduation Allowance program.

Meanwhile, Sotto addressed inquiries from K to 12 students regarding the distribution of the ₱1,500 assistance, saying that the schedule is still being finalized.

He explained that the list of beneficiaries was based on the student roster on the first day of classes.

Sotto said the new education assistance programs reflect the city government’s continued commitment to easing the financial burden on students and supporting them throughout their academic journey.
