ONLINE classes will continue in areas placed under enhanced community quarantine, Malacañang clarified on Saturday.

Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan will be under the strictest of lockdown from March 29 to April 4, 2021.

“Those of you thinking of cutting classes online, online classes will continue because students and teachers do not need to go out of their houses,” Palace Spokesman Harry Roque.

The Commission on Higher Education earlier said 24 higher education institutions have been allowed to conduct limited face-to-face classes beginning in the second semester of Academic Year 2020-2021.

CHED said these HEIs have fully complied with the guidelines laid down by the government and had been inspected by the commission and local officials.

“Allowing resumption of in-person classes, especially for subjects that cannot be done virtually, will ensure the country to have medical professional graduates,” said CHED chairman Prospero De Vera III.

But CHED said that limited face-to-face classes will only be allowed among third year and fourth year students who are taking up health-related courses.
