MAKATI CITY PROVIDES ANTI-DENGUE KITS TO OVER 47K STUDENTS
THE LOCAL government of Makati City has provided anti-dengue kits to more than 47,000 public elementary students.
Makati Mayor Abby Binay said the parents of 47,212 learners from Kinder to Grade 6 can now pick up the free anti-dengue kits in their kid’s schools.
“The distribution of anti-dengue kits to public school students is part of our campaign to prevent dengue, especially during the rainy season,” Binay said in a statement.
Each kit contains a 250 ml. mosquito repellent lotion and a wrist band with four citronella capsules that last up to three months per piece.
The initiative is part of the local government’s campaign to prevent dengue as the City’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit recorded a total number of 334 dengue cases from January 1 to August 15.
“The city has continuously put a premium on enhancing the learning experience of students in our public schools,” Binay said.
“We want them to look neat and smart and feel confident when they go to school. At the same time, we aim to keep them well-protected from the elements and seasonal diseases,” she added.
