MORE local government units suspended the conduct of face-to-face classes due to the upcoming transport strike.

In a Facebook post, the city government of Manila announced the implementation of asynchronous classes in all public schools from March 6 to March 11.

Private schools in the city are encouraged to switch to online classes during this time.

Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy also announced the implementation of asynchronous or synchronous classes in public schools and urged private schools to similarly transition to online classes.

Biazon also said Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa would conduct online classes for the entire week.

Colegio de Muntinlupa suspended its classes from March 6 to 7.

However, community-based Early Childhood Education will still hold in-person classes.

Caloocan City Mayor Along Malapitan ordered public and private schools to temporarily transition from physical classes to online learning.

“Para sa kapakanan ng ating mga estudyanteng maaapektuhan ng tigil-pasada sa susunod na linggo, pansamantala pong ipagpapaliban ang face-to-face classes simula March 6 hanggang March 12, 2023,” Malapitan wrote on Facebook.

“Samantala, ipatutupad po ang online classes sa lahat ng antas sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa Lungsod ng Caloocan,” he added.

The local government of Cainta also advised all schools in the area to conduct full online classes from March 6 to 10.

“Schools can adopt such other measures so as not to disrupt classes and to assist students to continue learning in other ways,” the Cainta local government said in a statement.

The Department of Education earlier said there will be no suspension of classes despite the weeklong transport strike.

DepEd spokesperson Michael Poa noted those who will not be able to attend in-person classes should be allowed to continue learning through alternative delivery modes.
