HOUSE APPPROVES MEASURE PROMOTING INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

THE HOUSE of Representatives has approved a bill that seeks to promote inclusive education and entrepreneurship among Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps adult beneficiaries.

House Bill 8497 also aims to provide employment for sustainable development to beneficiaries.

Voting unanimously, lawmakers approved on third and final reading the measure that will allow 4Ps beneficiaries to enroll in the alternative learning system and provide them entrepreneurship and employment trainings.

Under the bill, a community mobilization grant amounting to P500 will be given to each beneficiary of the Adult Education Program for their meals and transportation.

At the same time, lawmakers approved on third and final reading House Bill 8400 or the proposed Trabaho Para sa Pilipino Act with 235 affirmative votes, three negative, and zero abstention.

The bill is a priority measure of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council. It seeks to institutionalize and expand the National Employment Recovery Strategy to a Jobs Creation Plan.

The JCP aims to accelerate economic growth and development by aligning national investments and incentives to solutions aimed at easing the challenges in the labor market.
