GROUP URGES YOUTH TO ABANDON REVOLUTIONARY IDEAS

/ 20 November 2020

A GROUP protested outside the University of the Philippines to dissuade students from pursuing ‘seditious’ acts.

Liga Independencia Pilipinas Secretary General Jose Antonio Goitia called on students to “abandon inciting revolutionary ideas and continue their education.”

“A group of students have been calling for the ouster of the President on the pretense of mishandling of the pandemic and recent calamities. The call is seditious and illegal,” Goitia said.

“In effect, you are espousing a revolution not only against the government but also on our democratic way,” he added.

He said that the youth should instead voice their concerns that will contribute to the nation’s development.

Goitia stressed that students and the youth are the future of the country, thus they should steer clear of terrorists and communists.

“We are counting on you, kayo po ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng kinabukasan ng bansa. Huwag ho tayong magpadala sa mga communists, terrorist groups, militants at progressive organizations. Wala hong mangyayari sa atin ‘pag ganito, eh,” he added.
