FAPSA WELCOMES DOLE WEBINAR ON EMPLOYEES COMPENSATION PROGRAM
THE FEDERATION of Associations of Private Schools Administrators lauded the initiative of the Department of Labor and Employment to conduct a series of webinars on Employees’ Compensation program for personnel of private schools.
The free webinar aimed to educate private school employees on income benefits and the assistance they are entitled to in case they sustain work-related injury, sickness or death.
“FAPSA members were happy to note that compensability of injuries is available for them when these happened while on official function even outside of workplace or when going to or coming from work, or ministering to personal comfort, or during a company sponsored activity,” FAPSA President Eleazardo Kasilag said.
The webinar was initiated by DOLE through the Employees’ Compensation Commission.
The initial webinar conducted in early June had 7 sessions with 665 participants.
The webinar received an overwhelming response from FAPSA members.
This prompted the group to request an additional 8 sessions for about 6,000 private school members. The additional sessions will be held in July.
“For the private schools to know this at this pandemic — in the midst of barren financial handicap, this DOLE program for our employees in the private schools, this is an oasis in a desert,” Kasilag said.
