AROUND 1,000 students affected by Typhoon Egay in Cagayan received educational assistance.

Sen. Imee Marcos, along with Gov. Manuel Mamba and Mayor Florante Pascual, personally supervised the distribution of educational assistance to youth.

The beneficiaries came from the towns of Gonzaga, Santa Teresita, Abulug, Santa Ana, Sanchez Mira, Aparri, Ballesteros, and Calayan.

They received P10,000 each which they can use to buy school supplies and other materials.

Marcos said it is appropriate to provide assistance to these students affected by ‘Egay’.

“I thought of helping because even though we have a lot of problems, we always strive to give allowance to our children when they go to school. We need money for tuition. You’ve been through a lot because of the pandemic, prices of basic goods are expensive and many lost their jobs,” Marcos said.
