/ 7 March 2022

TO BOOST its campaign against online pornography, the Department of Social Welfare and Development launched an e-learning training course to equip social workers in handling young victim-survivors of online sexual abuse.

Through the Inter-Agency Council Against Child Pornography, DSWD said that the free training course uses asynchronous and blended modalities which may be accessed by the participants depending on their period of availability.

“The online course includes three hours of interactive lessons, seven hours of video lessons, and links to external resources among others,” it said in a statement.

“Each lesson will be followed by quizzes, group discussion forums, and reflection journals to gauge and track the participants’ learning and course progress,” it added.

The online video lessons were produced by practitioners and experts and was designed to equip participants “through innovative and interactive capacity building.”

The DSWD, together with the other council members of IACACP, pledged to continue to lead and give its utmost efforts in creating a safer internet for children and protecting them from all forms of violence and online abuse.
