ATTENDING physical classes is crucial for the mental and social development of students, the Department of Health said.
It said that face-to-face classes allow children to develop their cognitive and social skills.
“F2F promotes physical and mental health and well-being. This is based on the latest scientific evidence,” the DOH said.
As more students return to their classrooms, the department said that the risk of getting Covid19 in school is reduced when teachers, learners and other school personnel are vaccinated and boosted.
Observing health and safety protocols such as wearing of mask, regular washing of hands, social distancing and proper ventilation in classrooms can mitigate the spread of Covid19 in schools.
“Let’s give our children the education and learning development they need and deserve this coming school year by providing the best education and protection,” the DOH said.
Last month, the DOH, the Department of Education and the United States Agency for International Development launched the national BIDA Kid Covid19 prevention campaign to support the safe expansion of physical classes nationwide.
