THE DEPARTMENT of Education has organized training for English, Science, and Mathematics (ESM) teachers as part of its efforts to improve learning outcomes.
According to DepEd, the training is in partnership with Khan Academy and Frontlearners.
The training sessions aim to equip teachers with the tools and strategies needed to conduct more effective learning sessions, ultimately improving academic performance and aligning it with international standards.
“We are equipping our teachers with cutting-edge tools and strategies to provide world-class instruction in English, Science, and Math. By empowering our educators, we are not only enhancing classroom learning but also preparing our learners to excel academically and meet the challenges of an ever-evolving world,” said Education Secretary Sonny Angara.
The series of activities began on January 6 with the preparation of regional ESM supervisors to create their classes on the Khan Academy platform.
This will be followed by an exam on the platform for all ESM teachers in each region.
DepEd said that the training for teacher-trainers and Learning Sessions for students will run from January 16 to March 10, 2025.
