DEPED MANILA APOLOGIZES FOR MODULE THAT USED NAME OF ROBREDO
THE DEPARTMENT of Education’s Manila Division apologized for using the name of Vice President Leni Robredo in a Grade 11 module.
“The Division office expressed its apology for any harm that the incident may have caused to individuals or groups,” it said in a statement.
One of the module’s questions asked students to determine whether headlines contained no problems in spelling, punctuation, or grammar.
The choices were: a.) Robredo chides government for unclear communication on new quarantine rules; b.) Robredo blames the government as they don’t have clear rules in quarantine; c.) Robredo charge the government as the culprit of confusion in quarantine; and d.) Robredo blames those in executive branch for communication’s unclear.
Another question asked: Which among the statements contain substantiated generalizations?
The choices were: a.) “Drug war a massive failure”–Robredo; b.) Robredo lies to the world, shames the nation and herself in UN message; c.) The real albatross on Leni Robredo’s neck; and d.) Let Leni plan on her own drug war.
The material was published in September 2020 for School Year 2020-2021.
Robredo earlier called out DepEd for the “inefficiency” of the said modules.
“Kung totoo na nakalusot ito sa Grade 11 na mga modules, gustong sabihin na napaka-inefficient ng DepEd. Ito lang ‘yung pinaka-ebidensiya na napaka-inefficient nila na pinapayagan nila na ‘yung mga module na ganito nakakalusot sa kanila,” she said.
