COVID19 PREVENTION ONLINE COURSE REMAINS THE TOP COURSE — TESDA
COVID19 prevention is the most popular online course of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, with over 500,000 Filipinos having taken it.
TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz said the online course on Covid19 prevention remains relevant as the country remains vigilant against new variants of Covid19 and other infectious diseases.
As of the third quarter this year, 272,845 have completed the course “Practicing Covid19 Preventive Measures in the Workplace” while there were 278,520 enrollees.
It was followed by “Performing Solid Waste Management in the Workplace” with 44,928 enrollees and 40,281 completers.
“As we continue to open up our economy, we still need to be cautious against this disease. I continue to encourage the public to take up this Covid19 prevention and other courses in the TOP,” Cruz said.
TESDA continues to develop online training courses and make these more accessible for Filipinos.
It is currently developing Automotive Servicing (Engine Repair) NC II, Domestic Work NC II, Establishing and Operating Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Maintaining a Substance-free Lifestyle.
Enrollees to the TESDA Online Program receive an electronic certificate of completion (or e-certificate) when they finish a course. Those who complete courses for full qualifications can undergo a competency assessment and receive a National Certificate.
The TOP currently offers 150 courses in various sectors, including construction, automotive and land transport, electrical, and electronics, among others.
Since its launch in 2012, the TESDA Online Program has logged more than four million registered users.
