THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has allowed at least 93 higher education institutions (HEIs) in 14 regions to conduct limited face-to-face classes for their medical and allied health programs.

Most of these HEIs are from the National Capital Region, Region 12, Region 4, Cordillera Administrative Region and Region 5.

CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera III said that CHED received 218 intents and 155 applications for F2F classes.

The commission, in coordination with the Department of Health, the Inter-Agency Task Force, and local government units inspected 113 campuses, he said.

So far, CHED has received only one report of Covid19 infection among those holding in-person classes.

De Vera said that the commission is studying the possibility of resuming physical classes for engineering, information technology, industrial technology and maritime students.

“We are generating data, and if the data shows that it is safe, we will recommend the next semesters of the degree programs that will have limited face to face,” he said.
