CENTRAL MINDANAO AIRPORT: ‘NALALAPIT NA ANG PAGLIPAD’

MANILA — Development of the proposed Central Mindanao Airport is underway.

This, after North Cotabato officials led by Third Legislative District Rep. Ma. Alana Samantha T. Santos got the support of Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Maria Esperanza Christina Garcia Frasco and Undersecretary Ferdinand C. Jumapao for the proposed development of the Central Mindanao Airport (CMA) following a lengthy discussion of the project.

On her social media post, Rep. Alana Santos called the project as “Nalalapit na ang paglipad.”

Deputy Speaker Raymond Democrito C. Mendoza, Gov. Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza, along with representatives from the Area Development Project Office (ADPO)-Region XII and Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) also attended the meeting and assessment of the project.

Engr. Ginalyn Fe Cachuela of the ADPO said the construction of the airport is geared towards providing efficient access to the mobility of passengers, as well as transport of agricultural commodities in the Province of Cotabato and nearby municipalities.

Also included in the discussions was the proposed construction of the Cotabato Agro-Industrial Park (CAIP).

For her part, DOT Secretary Frasco conveyed her support for both the CMA and CAIP projects as well with other future endeavors concerning tourism in the province.
