2,000 STUDENTS IN LEYTE GET CASH AID
HOUSE Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre released P10 million in financial assistance to 2,000 youth beneficiaries in Tacloban City.
Each beneficiary was given P5,000.
The House leader said the aid symbolizes the commitment of the national government to assist vulnerable sectors.
“I hope the amount would help the beneficiaries in starting some livelihood activities for them and their families, or for their or their children’s education,” he said.
Congresswoman Yedda said Tingog will continue to deliver aid and services in Eastern Visayas and other parts of the country.
“That is our commitment and we will remain true to it,” she said.
The aid was sourced from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Meanwhile, Acidre said “serving the people of Eastern Visayas and Leyteños and Samareños in general has been the principal focus of Tingog Party-list.”
