A total of 150 young residents of Manila have been granted temporary employment opportunities under the city government’s implementation of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), providing them with financial assistance and valuable work experience.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced that the beneficiaries were hired for an 11-day employment period as part of the city’s SPES program.

Each participant will receive ₱7,030.54 upon completion of the temporary work assignment.

Moreno said the program is not only intended to provide financial support to students but also to help them develop workplace skills and gain practical experience that can benefit their studies and future careers.

He added that exposing young people to actual work environments prepares them for future employment while allowing them to earn income during the program.

The SPES is a government employment initiative that provides temporary jobs to qualified students and out-of-school youth, allowing them to earn while gaining hands-on work experience.

The Manila City government continues to implement the program as part of its efforts to support the education, skills development, and career readiness of the city’s youth.
