VICE PRESIDENT Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo on Tuesday slammed fake reports that her Bayanihan e-Konsulta aims to gather voters’ personal information.
The Bayanihan e-Konsulta is a free medical teleconsultation program launched by the Office of the Vice President in April 2021 to contribute in the fight against Covid19.
In a Facebook post, Robredo said it is “unforgivable” to spread fake news at the height of the worst Covid19 surge in the country.
Previously, a Facebook user warned the public to be careful of TeleKonsulta saying it only gathers the personal information of voters.
A Twitter user agreed and said that a person must also provide his voting precinct number during the consultation.
Robredo, who is running for president in May, slammed the people who defamed the program and told them to just help Filipinos who are in dire need instead of spreading lies.
“We do not ask for precinct numbers. Anyone can try our Bayanihan e-Konsulta page. We cater to everyone. Walang pinipili. Hindi pa eleksiyon, ginagawa na namin ito,” said Robredo.
“‘Yung makakapagbigay ng resibo, ‘yung thousands of patients na natulungan na, ‘yung more than 1,000 volunteer doctors, and more than 3,000 non-medical volunteers,” she added.
Robredo also asked netizens to help report “fake news purveyors.” e-Konsulta aims to gather voters’ personal information.
