SENATOR Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Pacquiao projected a come-from-behind victory after he edged out Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso in the third spot in the recent presidential survey conducted by Pulse Asia.
In the April 16-21 survey, Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos retained his 56% preference rating, while Vice President Leni Robredo followed with a 23% score, 1% lower than her March rating.
Pacquiao placed third with a 7% rating, 1% higher than his score in March. Moreno recorded a 4% score, significantly lower than his 8% rating in March.
Pacquiao said that President Rodrigo Duterte was a third-placer in surveys but he pulled a surprise landslide win in the 2016 presidential elections.
The senator expressed confidence that he will get at least 20 million votes to make a historic victory as the first Filipino president to come from the masses.
“Nagsasabi ako ng galing sa puso. Nagsasabi ako ng totoo ‘di ako nagsasalita in a politician way, in a trapo politician na nagtatalumpati kung ano-ano pangako. Nasa puso ko sinasabi ko sa tao kasi ramdam ko ‘yung nararamdaman na paghihirap ng sambayanang Pilipino kaya ganito si Manny Pacquiao,” Pacquaio said.
He said that the “silent majority” which represents 48% of the electorate will play a pivotal role in determining the results of the elections.
Through his Pabahay Plus forms, Pacquaio pointed out that people will support his quest for the presidency, noting that he already has something to show for his promises unlike the other candidates.
“Naniniwala ako na ang suporta nila na kay Manny Pacquiao dahil si Manny Pacquiao ang representante ng mahihirap kasi diyan ako nanggaling,” he said.
