GROUPS BACK GUANZON
SEVERAL groups backed outgoing Commission on Elections Commissioner Rowena Guanzon on her allegations that the resolution of the disqualification cases filed against presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is being delayed.
SEVERAL groups backed outgoing Commission on Elections Commissioner Rowena Guanzon on her allegations that the resolution of the disqualification cases filed against presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is being delayed.
Kabataan Party-list, Anakbayan, and Kilusang Mayo Uno released their statements of support for Guanzon and held a rally at the Comelec office in Manila.
Meamwhile, KMU said that the elections will be questionable if doubts on the poll body’s integrity will not be cleared.
Talo ang mamamayang Pilipino,” the group said
in a statement.
The Contend of Teachers/Educators for Nationalism and Democracy – University of the Philippines (CONTEND UP) urged Comelec to release its decision on Marcos Jr.’s disqualification case.
“The continued delay is an assault on basic principles of transparency and accountability. Instead of publicly criticizing the fierce and feisty Commissioner Guanzon, COMELEC officials should reflect on how they’ve failed the public in protecting the integrity of the upcoming elections,” it said.
