CAVITE Governor Jonvic Remulla filed his certificate of candidacy for the post he is occupying on Friday, October 1.

Remulla has been governor since 2019, defeating then incumbent Governor Ayong Maliksi. He previously held the position for two terms – from 2010 to 2013, and 2013 to 2016.

He also served as vice governor and member of the provincial board.

The son of former governor Juanito Remulla Sr. began his political career in 1995 as a board member of the second district of Cavite.

Remulla pledged to strengthen connectivity, peace and order, as well as education and infrastructure in Cavite.

He will run with Tagaytay Councilor Athena Tolentino as his vice governor.

The filing of COCs for next year’s elections is until October 8.
