THE ZAMBOANGA Peninsula Polytechnic State University warned the public against individuals posing as its president on social media.

ZPPSU said that the scammers use the name and photos of its president, Dr. Nelson Cabal, to offer financial assistance.

It said that Cabral did not authorize anyone to offer aid under the International Finance Corporation Financial Assistance.

“Please be informed that somebody is using the name and picture of DR.NELSON P. CABRAL in Messenger and in Instagram disguising and offering anybody about INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CORPORATION FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE,” ZPPSU said on Facebook.

“Please be warned that these people who are claiming to be DR. NELSON P. CABRAL are not in any way connected to Dr. Cabral or to his office nor they are legitimate representatives of Dr. Cabral. Let it be made clear that Dr. Cabral [has] not authorized any person or group of individuals offering about this INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CORPORATION FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE,” it added.

The university asked the public to report to school authorities if they get offers from individuals behind the scam.
