THE WESTERN Mindanao State University held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of its College of Medicine building on Monday.

The project, which has a budget of P100 million, aims to boost the program offerings of the university in the field of medicine.

The university hopes to produce internationally recognized and competitive doctors who can serve their respective localities.

“As we conduct the groundbreaking ceremony today, may this symbolize the start of the long-standing vision of this institution to deliver quality and accessible medicine and higher education in the country,” Commission on Higher Education Commissioner and WMSU Board of Regents Chairperson Aldrin A. Darilag said.

“As such, this milestone serves as a vivid proof of the cooperation and coordination that exist between CHED and our SUCs as they pursue their development goals in the service of the community and its learners,” he added.
