THE VISAYAS State University cemented its place in the list of best universities in the Philippines after it claimed the 9th spot in UniRank’s universities ranking for 2022.

Previously, VSU ranked eighth in the Webometrics rating.

UniRank is a global ranking system that places universities and schools in order of popularity and web presence based on factors such as anticipated traffic, domain trust, authority and high-quality links to popularity.

In the Philippines, there are 232 higher education institutions recognized by UniRank.

UniRank bases its ranking of Philippine universities and colleges on the following criteria: chartered, licensed, or accredited by the appropriate Philippine higher education-related organization, offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees or postgraduate degrees, and delivering courses predominantly in a traditional, face-to-face, non-distance education format.

The consistent top 5 leading universities in the country are the University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of the Philippines System and the University of Santo Tomas.
