USTP GETS P3.2-M FOR RESEARCH PROJECTS

THE DEPARTMENT of Science and Technology gave the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines P3.2 million to fund three research and development projects.

The projects are “Development of Poultry Monitoring System” led by Engr. Miriam Bergado with a funding of P897,163.63; and “Design, Fabrication and Testing of Dehusking and Defleshing Equipment for Durian Ice Cream Making” supervised by Engr. Dennis Ganasa with a budget of P1.2 million.

The research entitled “Design, Fabrication and Testing of a Thermal Drying and Roasting System for various Agricultural Products for MSMEs” spearheaded by Dr. Antonio-Abdu also has a budget of P1.2 million.

The project is under the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy Technology Research and Development.

It will be implemented starting January 1 to December 31, 2021.

All three projects are under USTP’s Center for Artificial Intelligence and Design and Engineering Center which headed by Bronson Mabulay.
