UST MOVES OPENING OF CLASSES FROM AUGUST 9 TO 12
THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas has moved the opening of classes from August 9 to August 12 because of tighter quarantine measures in Metro Manila.
“With the enhanced community quarantine starting on August 6, UST will move the first day of classes to August 12, 2021 (Thursday), to allow our stakeholders additional time to adjust to the new restrictions,” UST said in a Facebook post.
However, it said that opening ceremonies will push through on Monday, August 2.
The government placed Metro Manila under enhanced community quarantine from August 6 to 20 to prevent the spread of the more infectious Delta variant of Covid19.
The Department of Health on Sunday reported 8,735 new Covid19 with deaths reaching 28,016.
This marks the third consecutive day of more than 8,000 additional infections, with the overall count now at 1,597,689.
