UST AGAIN NAMED SCHOOL OF THE YEAR
FOR the seventh time, the University of Santo Tomas was named school of the year in the recently held 2021 PH Quill Awards organized by the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines.
The university swept 21 awards, six excellence awards and 15 merit awards during the online awarding ceremony.
The awards were mostly garnered by students from the Faculty of Arts and Letters and the Institute of Information and Computing Sciences, the Tiger Media Network, and the Varsitarian, the university’s official student publication.
“I believe our virtual event highlighted the important role that communicators played, and continue to play during this pandemic. Words have power, and with creativity and commitment, those words transform our darkness into light, our disappointments into hope, and that together we all keep the faith and we win,” Joe Zaldarriaga, IABC Philippines chairman and vice president for corporate communications of Meralco, said.
The Philippine Quill and the Philippine Student Quill Awards honor exemplary communication research, programs, skills, and creative work.
The IABC judged the entries using global standards that measure the brightest and the sharpest in the communication industry.
