STUDENTS of the University of San Carlos won in the Business Leadership Program of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.

The USC team was composed of Jianne Ilysse Yu and Queenie Casquejo of the Department of Accountancy; Jandel Gil Sarto and Jonathan Sia of the Department of Business Administration; and Darlyn Joy Ponce of the Department of Economics.

Sarto’s group was declared the champion in the Business Plan Competition while Casquejo’s team secured the second runner-up title.

Yu achieved the highest score in the Test of English for International Communication examination while Casquejo placed fifth. Both were also nominated as Best Female Presenter.

The program aims to offer qualified Filipino students the opportunity to exchange ideas and have an in-depth understanding of key global and economic issues.

It also hopes to enlighten future businesses and community leaders about the pivotal role played by multinational companies in driving the country’s progress and development.

Only 30 students nationwide were chosen to participate in the event.
