UP PERSONNEL MEET TO DISCUSS SALARY-RELATED ISSUES
FACULTY and personnel of the University held a forum to discuss their concerns mostly related to their salaries and working conditions.
The gathering was led by the University of the Philippines Salary Fight Network, a coalition of UP faculty and staff.
The network was founded in June 2023 to promote salary increase and to advocate long-lasting solutions to salary problems and practices regarding wages in UP.
With the title “GRABE NA, KULANG NA! SAHOD, ITAAS NA!”, the forum aimed to address various issues that affect the UP community such as delayed salaries, outdated worker benefits, demand for higher pay for contractual and regular workers and lecturers, and overtime pay.
“Ano ang ating magagawa? Kailangan nating mamulat, magkaisa at kumilos,” Celeste Vallejos, director of the UP College of Social Work and Community Development Office of Research and Extension Development, said.
