DR. TEODORO Herbosa, the executive vice president of the University of the Philippines, has quit his post for “personal reasons.”

Herbosa’s resignation took effect immediately, UP said in an announcement on Sunday.

UP President Danilo Concepcion accepted Herbosa’s resignation.

He said that Herbosa “had served the University with great dedication.”

“In your service as Executive Vice President, you have shown how vital this position can be to the governance of the University,” he said.

Concepcion however stressed that “it is imperative that there be consistency and harmony in our relationship as administrators, as well as in our public pronouncements, given that we both represent the larger University community, its spirit, and its interests.”

Herbosa earlier drew flak following his “death by community pantry” tweet.

He posted his reaction after the death of a senior citizen who lined up at the community pantry organized by actress Angel Locsin in Quezon City.

Herbosa was part of the UP Covid19 Response Team.
