UP CALLS FOR ENTRIES FOR ONLINE VIDEO SERIES CONTEST
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines is now accepting entries to an online video competition that aims to show everyday heroism and hope in the time of face masks and social distancing.
Dubbed “Pag-aalay Webxhibition and Festival”, the university will accept entries for categories such as narrative, documentary, animation, experimental, virtual/augmented reality, and music video.
“The festival is seeking entries that capture the changing times and the selfless acts and offerings of hope that go with them. The short videos do not necessarily have to focus on the university system, but may look at different people and their lives through the pandemic,” UP said.
“Entries must have a total running time of 30 to 90 seconds, in a video format that can be easily uploaded to different social media platforms. Videos with duly accomplished Festival entry forms available on the TVUP Facebook page can be submitted via email at [email protected] until December 15, 2020,” it added.
Winners will receive “Pag-aalay” trophies which were specially handcrafted by UP artist and UPTV Director Dr. Grace Javier Alfonso.
During the virtual Video Festival Awards Night, winners in each category will also receive P15,000 for the first prize, P10,000 for the second prize, and P7,000 for the third prize. A special Chooks-To-Go People’s Choice Award is also up for grabs.
Meanwhile, the university reminded participants to observe all health and safety requirements, quarantine regulations, and other community restrictions in the production of their videos.
The festival is open to all Filipino filmmakers, amateur or professional, and to multimedia creators and artists.
