UNIVERSITY OF BAGUIO RECEIVES P1.5-M SUBSIDY FROM CHED
THE UNIVERSITY of Baguio received a total of P1.5 million subsidy from the Commission on Higher Education through the Bayanihan 2 for Higher Education Tulong Program of the government.
The subsidy program aims to help qualified students in need to continue their education amid the Covid19 pandemic.
The amount was received by the school last December 23, through its representative, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Janice Kaylyn K. Lonogan.
UB said a total of 300 students benefitted from the program.
The cash grant gave P5,000 to students in private Higher Educational Institutions, which can help them pay their unpaid balances for the present or previous school year.
“The said amount which serves as cash assistance under the subsidy program implemented by the Commission on Higher Education will benefit more or less 300 students from the University,” UB said in a statement.
The Bayanihan to Recover as One Act was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last September.
