THE move of the University of the East to cancel classes only for Kindergarten to Senior High School from January 14 to 21 drew the ire of Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’  Domagoso.

The mayor suspended classes in basic and tertiary education in private and public schools.

The mayor expressed dismay over the disobedience of the university.

“To the President of the school, this is a fair warning to you. If you don’t follow lawful directives and order from LGU, you will face the consequences of your action,” Domagoso said.

“Alam mo na ang desisyon ng LGU ay para sa kabutihan ng iyong mga estudyante at guro. TRY ME!” he added.

The mayor declared a health break from January 14 to 21 to protect the health of students and teachers amid the surge in Covid19 cases.
