TSU SCHOOL OF LAW’s MAMLAO SECURES 2ND VICTORY
THE TARLAC State University-School of Law’s Marc Andrei Marcos Legal Aid Office recorded its second victory with the dismissal of a case that it handled.
TSU said the case involved an individual accused of reckless driving under the influence of alcohol who had no lawyer to represent him last December 29, 2022.
MAMLAO took over the case last January 31, 2023. It was dismissed on May 18.
In a Facebook post, SOL Dean Dr. Jose Dela Rama Jr. said that the case was handled by the legal aid clinic’s law student practitioners under the supervision and leadership of MAMLAO director Mykedox Cuchapin.
Through MAMLAO, TSU law students are trained to serve the community with honor, integrity and nobility.
“Truly, the CLEP program of the LEB is working. Thank you, Atty. Mykedox Cuchapin, the legal aid director, who supervised our students in defending the case,” Rama Jr. said.
“Good job, guys! Thank you for all the support. The accused now walks as a freeman!” he added.
The limited practice for law students is authorized under Rule 138-A of the Rules of Court.
