TIP REGAINS CHED AUTONOMOUS STATUS
THE MANILA and Quezon City campuses of the Technological Institute of the Philippines have once again been granted autonomous status by the Commission on Higher Education under CHED Memorandum Order No. 07, Series of 2024.
This recognition places TIP among 77 private higher education institutions in the country to achieve this milestone, a distinction it has held since 2016. The autonomous status will remain in effect from 2024 to 2027.
The grant reaffirms TIP’s dedication to instructional quality and academic excellence, evaluated by CHED based on program accreditations, research initiatives, community outreach, global partnerships, and leadership in education.
TIP boasts 16 programs recognized as Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development by CHED. It also holds international accreditations, including ABET EAC and CAC for engineering and computing, ISO certification from DNV, and institutional and programmatic assessments from the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance.
Autonomous status enables TIP to further innovate, streamline processes, and enhance its programs, fostering an environment conducive to cutting-edge teaching and learning.
Dr. Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz, president of TIP, expressed gratitude to the community for their dedication and called the award a challenge to continue providing holistic opportunities for students. She encouraged students to maximize their academic and social experiences at TIP, aiming to equip them with globally competitive skills and connections.
