TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES  RESETS SEPT. 1 OPENING OF CLASSES TO SEPT. 7

/ 11 August 2020

THE TECHNOLOGICAL University of the Philippines has reset the opening of classes to September 7.

This after Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Dionisio Espression sent a proposal to the office of the president on August 3, seeking to reset the September 1 opening of classes to September 7.

Based on the letter posted by the TUP University Student Government Manila on its Facebook page, the appeal was made due to “some conflicts with the enrollment schedule and uploading of grades for the 2nd Semester, SY 2019-2020”.

“We did not anticipate that the early enrollment of old students (2nd to 5th year students) starting on August 3, 2020 will affect the process of the online enrollment as scheduled,” the letter reads.

Along with the letter of appeal, Espression also sent a proposed revision of the academic calendar of the 1st semester which urges the extension of enrollment along with the move to open classes to a later date.

TUP President Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres has issued a reply “with no objections” and has asked the VPAA to provide an adjusted school calendar until yearend for their reference.

The TUP has updated its academic calendar for school year 2020-2021 which will end in July of 2021.
